Hours of Operation, Late Fees, and Holding Fees
Mandy’s Lil Treasures Daycare's operating hours are 7:15 AM to 5:45 PM, Monday through Friday.
Your child's specific daycare hours will be outlined on the "Daycare Fees and Hours" form. If your child is picked up later than your contracted pick-up time, a late fee of $1.00 per minute will be charged beginning exactly 5 minutes after you should have been here. I do try to give you a bit of leeway by allowing a 5 minute grace period for minor delays. However, if you are consistently late, you will forfeit your 5 minute grace period and the overtime charges will start accumulating at your scheduled pick up time. The only exception to this would be if prior arrangements have been made at least 48 hours in advance and accepted by me. Overtime fees are calculated based off the clock on the wall by my front door, so please set your watches and cell phones accordingly. I require 2 weeks notice if you need to change your enrollment hours and I will do my best to accommodate your needs.
Please keep in mind that enrollment is on a first come first serve basis. If you would like to reserve a position for your child, a $100.00 holding fee will be required weekly until your child starts daycare. The holding fee is required if there is a week or more before your child will be starting daycare. The holding fee is non-refundable and is not applied towards the first week of care.
This fee entitles your child to care Monday through Friday for the specific times outlined on your Daycare Fees and Hours Form.
Before your child can be in my care, I require the following to be completed. There are no exceptions to this.
· A personal interview with the parents and child(ren).
· All paperwork -- including this policies form -- must be signed and completed with proper emergency contacts and phone numbers.
· The first week’s payment must be made in full.
· A copy of your child’s shot record must be received to be kept on file
Payment for childcare is expected by 5:45 PM Fridays for the upcoming week. Your weekly payment is expected by 5:45 PM, whether your child attended my daycare that Friday or not. A late fee of $20.00 will be incurred if I do not receive payment by 5:45 pm Friday. If I do not receive payment the following Monday morning, I will not accept your child in to daycare for that week, and a $2.00 a day late fee will begin accumulating until payment is received. I count on my daycare income to pay bills that are necessary to operate the daycare. Your child's weekly fee holds one position open in my daycare that is for your child only. I turn away other parents who need care in order for your child to keep their position. If I do not receive payment, I can not hold a position open for your child in my daycare. If you fail to make a payment for two consecutive weeks, you will forfeit your child’s position in my daycare and their position will be filled. You will still accumulate late fees until all overdue payments, have been received. Please keep in mind that either a 2 week written notice or 2 weeks payment is required if you would like to remove your child from my care
Please call me by 7:00 AM on any day wherein your child will not be attending my daycare so I can plan my day accordingly.
There is a $25.00 fee for checks written on insufficient funds, stopped payments or any other reason your check doesn’t clear the bank. You will also be responsible for any additional bank charges that are incurred through my bank.
What to Bring on Your Child’s First Day
Naptime directly follows lunch. During naptime, children of all ages -- with the exception of infants on their own schedules -- will be expected to rest quietly and sleep if they choose. Naptime will be approximately from 12:15 PM to 2:45 PM daily.
Sick Policy and Medications
If your child exhibits any of the following symptoms, they must be sent home:
Before returning to daycare your child must be symptom free for 24 hours without the help of Tylenol, Advil or other symptom masking medications.
Please do not ask me to care for a sick child or to reconsider these policies. If you bring a child to daycare who is ill, you are not only risking infecting the other children, you are risking infecting your provider. When your provider is sick, the daycare is closed. I’m sure you would not appreciate it if another daycare parent brought their sick child and your child became sick. Please have the common courtesy to keep your child at home or have an emergency back up provider for these situations or incase of any emergencies that may arise.
If medication is to be given to your child during childcare hours, a medication dosing form must be filled out stating the type of medication, the amounts to be given and dosage times.
Meals and Snacks
I provide a nutritious breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack for the children. We try to have a wide variety of flavors for the meals to satisfy each child’s individual tastes.
Time-outs are the only form of discipline used at Mandy’s Lil Treasures Daycare. Before a child is ever put into time-out they have multiple chances to correct the unacceptable behavior. Time-outs last one minute per year of age. After a time-out has occurred I discuss with the child why they were placed in time-out and what they can do differently next time to prevent it. I also use positive reinforcements daily with the children. When a child is following the rules I let them know they are doing a great job. I go over all the rules for the daycare with the children and teach them ways we can treat others with respect.
If someone other than yourself is picking up your child, you must notify me beforehand. The person picking up your child must show a driver’s license or picture identification if I have never met them in person before.
Occasionally I may have errands or other personal business to take care of, in which case my mother Ruth Berry may assist in watching the children. She is a mother of 8 and has MANY years of experience working with children including my own two daughters. My sister-in-law Crystal is also one of my back-up providers. She has many years of experience with children including working for Kindercare and running her own in-home daycare.
I may terminate your child’s enrollment, effective immediately, if your child’s behavior threatens the physical and/or emotional well–being of one or more of the other children. I may also terminate your child’s enrollment, effective immediately, if you are verbally or physically abusive or threatening to me in any way.
If you decide to terminate your child’s enrollment, you are required to give me either a 2-weeks written notice or 2-weeks payment so that I have time to replace him or her. I will give you at least two week’s written notice if I can no longer watch your child(ren).
No refunds will be given for any reason. The only exception to this would be if I choose to terminate childcare services and you have already paid in advance for the upcoming week(s). In that case I would refund the advanced payment(s). Payment for the final week I have your child in my care will still be expected in full.
If I am sick or have a family emergency and the daycare is closed, you will be credited for the closed days on your next week of care. The credit due is figured by taking the weekly amount you are paying divided by the days your child is in care. The amount you pay per day will be credited for each day the daycare is closed on a day your child normally would have attended.
Please notify me at least 2 weeks in advance if you will be taking a vacation. You will still be charged for the days your child is not here. Please remember that although your child is not here, my weekly bills still are, and I am relying on the income from your child’s position to continue to operate the daycare.
The daycare will be closed for the following paid holidays and paid vacation days:
New Year’s Eve June 12th Thanksgiving and day after
New Year’s Day July 3rd Christmas Eve
March 22nd Independence Day Christmas Day
Memorial Day Labor Day Day after Christmas
Please make alternative arrangements ahead of time for childcare on these days. If one of the vacation days falls on a weekend, I may take off the preceding Friday or the following Monday in place of it.
I do not expect you to bring by any payments for childcare on the days I am closed. However, you will be expected to pay in advance for the upcoming week on the last day your child is in my care prior to any paid holiday. Example: If I am closed on Friday, a normal payday, you should pay me on Thursday for the upcoming week. If you would like, you can post-date a check for the Friday the payment would normally be due.
I will also be taking off one week of vacation at some point each year. You will be notified of the dates at least a month in advance so you can make other arrangements for your child. You will not be charged for this week.
Please remember that vacation days and holidays are necessary to avoid provider burnout. I work very hard to provide you with high quality and reliable childcare 10 1/2 hours a day, 5 days a week. I hope you agree that the hard work and dedication I give to your family is worth the paid days I am asking for.
I will provide you with a 2-week notice for any additional vacation or personal days I may take beyond what is listed above. You will not be charged for these additional days or for any days that I am sick and the daycare is closed. You will be notified as soon as possible of any personal or family illnesses, funerals or other emergencies. Again you will not be charged for these days and they will be credited on your next week of care.
It is your responsibility to notify me of any changes in address, phone numbers, hours of childcare, or any other important information I may need.
